Just a quick thank you to all those that came out for the NW In. ride today. Pat & I really enjoyed ourselves & it was great seeing all of you & meeting a few new members as well. Hope you all had a great time while taking in the sights and smells of the Region. We didn't get in all that I had planned, but there's only so many hours in a day. So, another time we can pick up where we left off. Still would like to have everybody see Kerstings MC museum, and hit Marty's Landing, which RT 2 closed due to a truck accident, kept us from getting to. Also, being a Vet, I was hoping to take ya'll over to Stony Run Memorial Park, where one of the most impressive Viet- Nam Vet Memorials in the Country is located. Special Thanks to Brian Z ( McGyver) for taking the lead for a great scenic ride around Laporte's Pine lake & backroads........ " Who says all the roads in Indiana are Flat & Straight"? See ya in Boscobel if not sooner. Hope you guys from up north & west are all home safe. Ride easy...Slick & Pat ~v~ 2903r Big Valk Interstate Griffith IN

Hey Slick and Pat!
Just wanted you to know that Joyce and I had an absolutely FANTASTIC day on Sunday!! It was a real charge, getting to know all the great people who came out for the NW Indiana ride. Even dropping my Nomad there at the beach wasn't too painful (although it WAS embarrassing!), and we really appreciate the concern you all showed for Joyce when she got dumped off into the street. My personal thanks to Richard for running up and helping me get The Queen back up on two feet (tires). The stories some of you told me about your first "drop" were like salve to a wound, and I'm thankful.
Oh, by the way; I didn't get the chance to thank you for buying all the beverages for lunch at Roskoe's. So, here it is: "THANK YOU!!!" As Bryan says, "You Da Man!!"
Oh yeah, Bryan, Becky, Joyce and I didn't get away from downtown C.P. until about 7:00! The girls were talking about whatever girls talk about, and Bryan and I were talking (what else) motorcycles. I see LOTS of stuff on his bike that I'm going to have to do on mine!!

Thanks, Terry

What a great day for a ride.  Having just put on my Mustang saddle and a set of Vance & Hines Cruizers, I was ready to roadtest...  Best thing I could have done to the bike...  Loud and comfortable.
My only memorable point of the ride besides getting to ride with some of the finest VROCers around was the assigning of a nic to Matt Kas.  I met up with Matt at the Amoco in Buffalo Grove early in the morning so we could catch up with Big J and head down south.  As Matt and I were riding West on Lake-Cook Rd with Matt in the lead a squirrel decided to commit suicide.  The dumb little shit ran across the road, stopped, looked at us and ran head first into Mat's tire.  Matt never saw it coming and felt the jolt, but nothing else.  I flipped down my shield expecting to have pissed off-rabid squirrel heading toward my face.  Instead, the dumb creature went spinning on it's back across the road while Matt slowed down to figure out what he hit and I was barely able to ride because of the uncontrollable laughter coming out of my helmet.  While I am not normally a cruel person, the fact that the squirrel saw us and than ran into the front tire of Matt's bike was just too funny to me.  At our next stop at Woodfield Mall to pick up Big J I informed Matt of his deed and dubbed him Matt "Squirrel-Killer" Kas.  If it was Cap'n Kirk, he would have stopped to get it and put it in the saddlebag to take home to show momma.  hehehehe!!!
A great day and I look forward to riding with VROC again...
Ride safe - The Bulldog...
